I know there are LOTS of campgrounds in the area. Just wondering if anyone had a specific recommendation. I'm looking for a place to pitch a tent for a couple of nights. I want something reasonably secure and quiet with basic amenities (washrooms, showers etc.). Not there for camp activities/hiking/scenic vistas; just reasonably inexpensive accommodations. Doesn't have to be Conway specifically but I think I would like something within a half hour or so. I'm planning a couple of day's riding in the general area next weekend if the weather is decent.

Look into Lafayette State Park. It is in the Franconia Notch. You are surrounded 4000 foot+ mountains. There is a real nice twisty road that leads to Conway from There.

Thanks for the suggestion; I'll look into it. I have enjoyed the ride up through Franconia a number of times. Hope the site isn't too crowded.

Edit: Just checked and no tent sites available for next weekend. Oh well, I guess the search will continue...

See about White Lake State Park, Real nice small lake, no motor boats and a couple of loons. It is only about 15 miles south of Conway.

I ended out in an awful "family" (privately owned) campground on Saturday night in Conway. On Sunday night, I stayed at the Moose Brook state campground in Gorham - nice spot.
