Hi all

Just wanted to thank everyone here for the interesting & helpfull info in choosing & tinkering with my FJR. Unfortunately I was never able to figure out the buzz that killed my hands within 20-30 minutes.

I just traded it for an '09 Victory 8 ball & got a pretty good deal on the trade, sort of a sad day as I had a blast on the FJR but having put an hour on the 8 ball without the numb hands I'm very excited about the prospect of racking up some miles again!!

This has to be one of the best bike forums out there & I'm going to miss lurking here!

Ride hard, stay safe boys & girls!

Enjoy your new ride! I understand about the numb right hand ... it is why I have a McCruise - without it, I would be back on a GL1800!

Best Regards,

Shane

skisby just because you traded the FJR does not mean you cannot still visit here. There are many things discussed here that are not just FJR specific as I am sure you know. Enjoy your 8 Ball and stop by and visit occasionally. Ride safe.

Maybe yu should have tried this to help with the vues in the hand. Go see a Doctor and have the sarpal tunnel test done,If you have not already had it done.

Had my right hand taken care of about 6 years ago the best thing I could have done. No buzz in the hand

the Victory is a geat bike and smooth good luck

skisby, you know the rule. No pictures, it didn't happen...
Let us know more about your new ride as you get the miles on.

Good luck with the vibrator , dunno how a big cube twin cyliner donk doesnt vibrate more than my gorgeuos in line four. Even with the strong throttle spring on my 07 baby my hands dont numb at all unlike the Skirtster I had some 10 years ago.

Relax the grip and enjoy the ride .

One of my best friends is on his second Victory. I've ridden both and they are great bikes. If I were to go back to a cruiser I'd have to take a hard look at them. enjoy the ride!!

Gary

Thanks guys, I'll stick around - this is still the best forum on the web that I have found.

Reason for switching rather than another ST? Honestly, it just looks & sounds so damn awesome! I took their tester out for an hour on the highway and side roads without the numbness (and yes I do have CTS but not enough of an issue to under the knife over!). The 8 ball has power to spare, corners great (actually a little more clearance than the FJ I think) & all round was a blast to ride. The FJ is a great looking bike but most of the other bikes in the class just don't appeal all that much.

If I did it right, my avatar should have updated & I'll follow-up with more as I rack up some miles.

Yep, glad the new bike's working out for you. Had the carpel tunnel done 3 yrs ago and totally cured the numb hand.

Again, good luck and safe riding.

Congrats on the the new ride!

I had CTS surgery on both wrists about 15 years ago. I was immediately sorry I had waited so long when I found out how it had completely cured all the symptoms: Numb, tingly hands, not being able do fine work because of the numbness, being awakened at night with one or both hands asleep, etc., etc.

Don't put it off, my friend! To have full and unimpeded use of the hands back is worth the minor inconvenience of the surgery and recovery.

Enjoy your new ride. I use to own a 2003 V92 Classic Cruiser. Never had any problems with it and it corner great. Had that bike for over 4 years. The only problem was (with the older ones) there wasn't enough clearance and I was always dragging the damn pegs. Also check the Victory Forum if you haven't already.

+ 1 on the Carpal tunnel Fx. It is easy does not hurt very much and it is great to be pain free. Too many years in IT typing code did it to me.
