I was very lucky and did not suffer any injuries. Dale, an on call fire fighter came buy not more than 30 seconds later and was a really big help. He put all my broken parts inculding my apple pie in his truck and helped to calm me down. I was really pissed at myself for doing something so stuipid. The bike was still rideable, though the forks were so bent that to go straight, the handle bars had to be cocked to the left. Dale followed me down the hill,or so I thought.
Here is when the story gets gets kind of funny. The whole way down the hill, I thought Dale was behind me so I decided to to to the Pala Casino. so when I get there, I am waiting and waiting and he doesn't show. Were are all my parts and more importantly, were is my apple pie? I want my fucking pie! Any way he never shows up so I venture back to my home in Chino Hills driving up the 15 with bent forks and all. I made it home safe and sound.
I read the whole post by everyone and I would like to say that if you have to "get off", you did it correctly.

As I was reading your post above, I was sensing that you were having negative thoughts (on the limp home from the crash) about the guy who undoubtably ate your apple pie and didn't follow you home.

And then I read further into the post and State Farm gives you a million dollars for a bike with a trillion miles on it. And you are buying TWN's bike. How cool is that? You gotta be on top of the world (except the whole 200k mile race thing).

But I think you owe the first responder to your accident an apple pie. Maybe he didn't eat it. Maybe he was going to follow you home and then had to go save a Grandma who was choking on something. Maybe he stopped in an attempt to save the pie because he knew how important to you, and was unable to save the pie. Why the negative thoughts about the guy riping you off? You need to make this right. You can't have these negative thoughts without bad things happening to you in the future. I seen it on Oprah.

You need to take the new bike to that apple pie making place and get 3 pies. One for him and one for you, and one for the both of you to eat when you deliver it. You should always be grateful and show people that you are grateful. That is one of those things that will get you into heaven. And it would be a great excuse to ride the new FJR and get an apple pie to boot.

I will forever be grateful to Dale and never thought he riped me off.

You do bring up a good up a good point about showing my gratitude by bringing a pie to Dale, which I may do next time I'm in the area. Rest assure I did express how thankful I was to him.
