Last week I rode a slightly used 2005 H-D FXDX from Mesa Az to El Dorado Hills CA. I had my FJR gear on; full-face helmet, Firstgear ventilated jacket, and Draggin Jeans. The H-D people didn't wave, Asian and European bikes with riders wearing appropriate safety gear did. So maybe it's what you wear, not what you ride. Then again, maybe the H-D crowd doesn't like H-D's that have fully adjustable suspension and is capable of lean angles of 35 degrees. The FXDX was discontinued for 2006.

Recently my old Shadow broke down on the side of the road and after calling a friend with a bike trailer to come help me, about a dozen sportbikes passed me looking me over. A Harley Electraglide with a guy and his wife/girlfriend were the only ones who stopped to see if I needed help - and they actually turned around on a busy road to come back.

I always wave to everyone don't care what they ride. If they don't wave back no big deal. I will stop for any bike in distress and ask if they need help. I just hope they return the favor to someone else. The last last stop I made was Sunday to pull some guys R1 out of the ditch. I didn't know him but he was hurt and needed help. It only took five minutes out of my Sunday ride, well maybe ten.

Oh if you really want them to wave back at you flip them off. I'm sure they'll wave something back.

+1

+1 on stopping.

If they're in a group, I don't worry, but a lone bike/biker, no matter what type, broken down, fallen down, reading a map...I don't care...I stop unless I get a wave telling me to go on.
