"best package for me"
Oooooh, skooter's gonna be peeeeeesed!

But, for me, "... best therapy M/C in the world." Though I'd have to say, if it had the symphonic rapture as emitted by my previous gen VFR, well, all would be right in the world.

Oh, oh, oh!

Now that you throw Skooter into it, I want to change my answer. True for me and probably true for Skooter, Skyway, and beeroux.

"best bike to do 2000+ miles in 24 hours on"....even if that doesn't make total grammatical sense in Toecutters posit.

The combination of speed, sportiness, fuel economy, and comfort made the platform shine!

The FJR is argueably the most argued M/C in the world. :aggressive: :gun:

The FJR is argueably the best platform motorcycle in the world.

It is good for some the way it is. (like me)

It is good for some with a few modifications/farkles. (like IB riders)

It is good for some if only it had a few certain things. (like flower smelling riders who need a Wing)

I compare it to the C130 Hercules, the best airplane platform in the world. It can do anything if you want it to.

Edit: I know, better to say motorcycle platform, just keeping with TCs blank spaces.

I was looking at what the 06 ST1300 color was for 06. Damn, and then my eyes went to what their asking for that thing. Something in the neighborhood of 15,500.000 for the ABS version? Holy crap! And it's suppose to be great right out of the box, aye? O.Kaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy...
They aren't actually SELLING many of them at anywhere close to asking.
Here, in the land of inflated bike prices they were offering me an '06 ABS ST1300 for $500 less than the FJR.

HOWEVER: Honda has a basic 3 year warranty extensible to 7 for little money, Yamaha has a one year, extensible to 5 years for a LOT of money (this is in Canada - I KNOW you can get a YES for $389 in the US). So the FJR, with a 5 year warranty was C$1200 MORE than the ST1300ABS and provided a 2 year shorter warranty for the extra money. In my case, the Honda dealer was 2 blocks from my office and was promising loaner bikes or cars if/when my bike was in for service (they are a Honda car dealer too).

The Yamaha dealer is 10 miles away and runs a shop that is a lot less 'professional' than the Honda. But I went for the Yamaha, in part because the machine lends itself better to my hooligan style of riding.

The FJR is argueably one of the most grin-generating M/C's in the world.
R1s don't make their owners grin? And there are LOT more of them than there are FJRs.
Just trying to be accurate.

Ya know, when the wife and I picked up Wonky,
She saw it sitting there in the sunlight -

and she just kind of ... stared at it.

A very quiet 'wow' escaped her lips.

Does any other bike out there do that to your SO's?
....No... but when I fire up the Harley the gurlz just want to SIT on it and go OOOOOHHHHH!!!

The fjr has the most whining owners known to man. Wah, wah, wah...I never seen so many people crying about their scoot as compared to the fjr owners.

yeah, the Triumph Sprint and Gixxer 750 in red/blk do it to her everytime. Then again she rides and there is more to her "wow"s than looks. I could not wipe the grin off her face when we got done with our side-by-side Triumph test ride a few weeks ago. She rode a Sprint and I rode the 675.

The FJR is argueably the least likely to remain 'low mileage' M/C in the world.

11 months, over 19k

geez.

The FJR is argueably the most likely to be mine for a long, long time to come.
