Since getting my first bike in '05 (a Suzuki Burgman 650), I've generally ridden the bike if I had to go anywhere. Working at home for the last few years until this past summer meant no commute - only trips to meetings and such. Changing jobs to where I had to go to the office everyday meant a regular commute on the FJR everyday, plus heading out to any meetings I might have had with clients or whatever.
My cage is a 2006 Saturn Ion Redline, I bought it new in 2006 and the odometer just clicked over 40000 kms last month. That's around 8000 per year in a part of the world where the roads can be iced from late-November to mid-March.
Both my wife and I use the bikes for commuting any chance we get.

I think I am 50 50 between cage and if one is more than the other it would be the fjr

Bought a convertable(Mercedes SLK) because I liked being out in the open. Now it sits in the garaqe except on rainy days because the FJR is always my ride of choice. I tell my wife I ride the bike because of better gas milage. It ain't true, but it's a great excuse!
