Robin (aka Cdogman) has become a very dear friend of mine over the past year or so. While we haven't actually ever met in person, he has been one of my greatest supporters in many ways since my accident. He will be coming down for a visit on Saturday, Oct. 23rd to pick up a "little something" I have stashed in my garage before making a beeline one-shot run for home in Utah on Sunday, Oct. 24th.

My post is two-fold:

1) Anyone interested/available in getting together in the south Bay Area on the evening of October 23rd for dinner?

2) Depending on his route, which will be "direct and to the point," perhaps some of you nutters might be able to ride along with him and give him some morale support for the long journey. It's been awhile since he's ridden much less a 700+ day right off the bat!

Hopefully, he will join in the conversation here even though he has been absent from the forum due to a few life challenges. B)

Great news! He was another AE kinda guy, I've wondered if he would turn back up.

What's he riding now?

Hello everyone.. I have been missing for so very long..

Tyler.. in her gracious style.. and to my utter amazement has done the near impossible.. She has left me speechless. She has offered me her bike since she does not ride it. I did not ask. she just sent me a note.. I have not been in good financial straights.. and just staying above water since my getoff.. I will be bringing The Truimph 1200 back to Utah.. where it will be loved, cherished, and talked to..

She has taught me a life lesson.. I am extremely grateful and utterly humbled... She has taught me what true grace and class are. It is not that she is giving me the bike.. it is that she thought of it. I have never had someone do something like this for me.. I expected to be on the road someday.. but this year was out.

I am coming down to meet this lady and hug her.. and leaving with her Triumph ST.. and I would love to see the crew.. if it is convenient.. I have not ridden in 1.5 years..and I am starting off by taking a 789 mile trip the next morning.

I missed this place. I felt out of place not having a bike.. Tyler is one of a kind.... no wonder so many turned out for her..

Cdog

At this point, all I can say is..., "Hey Robin! Long time no hear from!"

Robin was the person to blame for initially making me feel okay about my riding habits. In some ways, his were worse than mine. :)

We scalded some Ooootaaah roads, both of us 2-up, with good ole SkooterG stuck somewhere in the sandwich (as I recall). I'm sure Michelle has suppressed that memory entirely.

:D

It seems Jeff is trying to pin it on me again.. LOL

I do recall the Alpine Loop Run we made.. that road had JUST been resurfaced.. it was all kinds of sticky. LOL

I am SUPER excited to Finally meet you Tyler.. SUPER excited... MWA!

Wow, that's amazing. Robin, you're right about Tyler, I know, but even more than I suspected. What a generous act. Hats off, T. Robin, if you can offer up some routing info, I'll bet you pick up some folks along the way. I recall a real good day the last time you came by NoCal. It'll be good to have you back in the fold.

Wow! That is awesome!

I had a very good friend, an old partner, that suffered a major injury. He had to retire due to his injury. He had to be hospitalized for some time because of the injury. After all was said and done, he was kind enough to buy me a brand new m/c. His generosity was amazing, as is Tyler's. I wish the best for both of you.

Rick

Mike... and all.. I will be leaving Tys house a o dark thirty... beeee line for Salt Lake City.. I will be running by gps.. fastest route. I have one day to get back... and I am far more concerned about the weather.. an ice.. I have some high passes to get over.. Having not sat astride a bike for some time.. I have no illusions my first time..on an unfamiliar bike.. and 800-ish miles will take a toll on me.. so my route is superslabbing it to get back to safety.. and then.. I will have a bike I can talk to.. I have a big mancave on my lot.. and have had no reason to go out there.. Now.. I will have someone to talk to there..

Yes. Tyler is amazing.. and I have to say.. amazing seems to fit so many in our Riding community..

Awesome..

OK, I'm envious, jealous, and calling you a BASTARD

now that I feel better, geeze Robin, we're all fambly here...must be...regardless of popular demand, I'm still here, ain't I

I remember well you adopted Tyler while she recuperated big time...your care and generousity was just plain contagious

I have some of the same feelings...I have stories how the motorcycle world actively helped greatly, for my family to get through the affects of a beotch named Katrina

it has permanently touched me in the "pay it forward" department

best always,

Mike

Cdog, good to see you back on the board!

Tyler, you are a most amazing person. :clapping: :yahoo: :yahoo: :clapping:

Welcome back Robin.

It's always sad when a long time member just fades away. Now that you are riding again stick around, we missed you.

Tyler, I'm proud to call you my friend. You are one class act !

Robin,

You are a talented rider and I am glad you found your way back to the forum and a new mc. Good for you.

Dang...a T.V. star and now this. She'll be insufferable! ;)

But the worth of her autograph could be reaching new heights, especially on the bottom of open checks! :yahoo:

Seriously, good on you both and for reasons already expressed elsewhere.

Robin, O-dark-thirty from Ty's should bring you through here at Sunrise. Let's see, the 23rd is a Saturday and I'm usually up early (0400-0500). Hmmmm, this is workable! Maybe ride with you up to Donner?

Oh....making Patriot jealous: Priceless! Be sure and post pictures, just to rub salt in the wound.

See, Mikey, that's the thing... Robin stepped up for me in a most dire time in my life... pretty much a complete stranger but he opened up his heart and gave as so many others here have done for not just me but other folks too... and he was a man without a bike who so needed to find one to give a good home to... and I was a woman who had a bike that needed to find it a good home... I couldn't understand why I was dragging my feet about selling it... it's just a bike, right?

But to me it's not... it took me to new levels of riding and adventure and sights and sounds and people and places... it needed someone who would appreciate the personality and the spirit of it... I knew I had found the right home, the right spirit, as soon as the thought came into my lil ole puddin' head!

I truly believe we are here to give to each other... a little or a lot... but it's about taking care of one another, supporting one another in good and bad times, with an open heart and no expectations. That's what it's all about. B)

Okay, enough mushy crap... should I say you're all a bunch of sheep lovin' feckers now? Will that even things out? ;)
