I took my Kabota in for a oil change about 20 years ago. The bill came to $120.00 without an oil filter. Been changing my own oil ever since.

Wow.. Barabus is a low, Ray is high.. Skooter is more on target..

Any guesses to gear and shaft cost?

..and it's cheating to got search at jdparts.com, jes sayin'...

$1165.00 + shipping and I know if that machine was AT the dealer/stealer for that repair you would need the O2 bottle when they give you the labor bill 5 -6 hours at 165.00 per hour good luck with the rebuild Don... Need me to fly out and assist

At least those are internal parts. Just think what they would charge if they had that green or yellow super expensive paint all over them!

Whatever it costs it is worth it. A 4wd tractor in that size is a little monster. I have a 32 hp Monster Fergusson, 4WD with a front end loader. That is the most useful machine on the whole place. I would rather go without electricity or indoor plumbing than go without that tractor.

The gear was 300, the shaft about 150, total order ~ $622 USD. Not too bad, ouch though..

Hmmm, 2 clutch disks and one throwout bearing?

1,034.64 USD

I'll be shopping elsewhere... :glare:

Oh no Redfish, Trust me on this.. the shiny metal parts are the cash cow!! Not to mention that anything with multiple tooling/cnc machine work just begs to be the big money winners! then the icing on the cake would be that little JD insignia they slap on everything :yahoo: Some time check out Ultimate factorys on Discovery channel For the Deere plant's (I've been to a few Moline,Ottumwa Syracuse,)the size of a small town all under one roof. Raw steel on rail car' on one end to full turn key combines out the door at line's end Amazing!

Not bad DON I am guessing you saved a few of good parts in that final drive and chose NOT to get too carried away (If it's not broke or worn out leave it) Have you split the machine yet for the clutch job or is that your next project?

+1+1+1 I've got a 25 hp new holland 4x4 with a bucket and a grader blade on the back. Once you have lived with a tractor you can't live without one.

Keep buying those parts. I own a few shares of JD stock. Maybe someday the stock price will get back up to where it was when I bought it.

Only saw Ultimate Factories once and it was on the Ferrari plant. Wow! Impressive. Their own foundry. Leather sewing. Everything under one roof. The sub NOTHING out. That was one of the coolest shows I have ever watched.

I also saw the one on the Ferrari plant. One man assembles one engine per day. The whole thing, by himself in a room so clean they could perform surgery. They had trees growing in part of the building to maintain the air quality if I remember correctly.

I saw about half of the one on the JD plant. The parts I remember were the paint process which is really incredible, and the enormous combine being assembled. The wiring harnesses and hydraulic hose assemblies did not seem to confuse those guys at all.

I live about 5 miles north of the Mt Joy Iowa plant. They are a major employer in the QC area. I'm gonna guess those parts are effin expensive.Pretty much the only farm equipment I see around here is Deere. They have a really cool museum over in Moline Ill.
