I just got back from the Doc and will be off work for at least a week and in the walking cast for at least 3-4 weeks. I don't think my work will let me come back with a walker on so I'll be out for a month or better.

The car wasn't in reverse on purpose, she and her 4 screaming kids were scrambling to get out and didn't get the car all the way into park. From what I'm told she did leave the scene for a while but came back for the kids or something? I dunno but I'm sure I'll be posting a review of Progressive's uninsured motorist coverage soon. I just looked at the bike again and I'm not convinced its a total. We shall see.

Sorry to hear about the crash.(Again) I wrecked my 04 on May 3rd. Broke my arm and a bone in my foot. I was wearing all my protective gear. It coulda been worse. Hope you heal up ok.

I'll be watching for your insurance update. My experience with Progressive was aces all the way but didn't involve uninsured motorist coverage, so that's an unknown to me. This was a "good news/bad news" kind of deal, wasn't it? Too bad she hit you, how nice she didn't kill you. Maybe they can give you a "sitting cast" with a bend in the knee instead of a walking cast. That way you can ride your replacement bike. :lol: Get well.

This is 2 bikes in 2 months or so, plus the bike that was on the trailer when I fell asleep last summer.

With that much bad luck, it might be time to start thinking about giving cycling a rest.

i hope things are gonna work out for you to get another FJR if this one's totaled. don't be discouraged. i had a few stupid things happen back to back with my car last summer due to other idiots on the road, so i know the frustration. its just tough luck and it will pass.

Just got word from the insurance company, they canceled this lady about 6 months ago and my agent can't get ahold of her to ask if she has anything else so we are proceeding as uninsured. The bike is a total and we are still in negotiations, I don't plan to buy this one back which kinda sucks because its in better shape than the one I have in the garage now for parts....

Ouch! Glad to hear that the outcome wasn't worse than it was, but still not cool.

I trust that the driver will be held accountable for her decisions/behavior. And to do that with a car full of kids, late at night too. What was she thinking? (or not, as the case may be).
