I also can't believe how close the people are. One oops too wide and they are a guardrail for him. This year at a SoCal desert race in Lucrne Valley, the Cali 200, a driver lost it and killed 8 people. Very tragic. Clicky

Years ago on the news they showed a clip from a Portuguese Rally. A ton-O-people were about 5 deep on the outside of a turn, a driver was drifting it sideways thru the turn and he went too wide, took out a bunch of the spectators like bowling pins. I couldn't believe people would line up on the outside of the turn. I called it a Portuguese guardrail. Ever since then I see people on the outside of a turn at a race I call them a Portuguese guardrail, a little sick but oh well.
