Having a bit of a time with a set of throttlemiesters on my 05 feej. They don't seem to fit very well, seems to me like the end of the grips have to be trimmed off some to get enough room. I do have Yammy installed heated grips. Have any of you people run into this problem and have the answer. I have put these on an st1100 I had and had no problem but this time it is tighting my jaw. :angry2:

Can't really help except to say I had no problem with my TM and the Yammie heated grips clearance. Something else going on...

Don't have heated grips but no problem with my Throttlemeister; check out the instructions, you have to adjust for tension and play.

I concur. I have an '06 AE with heated grips and my Meisters were a great fit with a rather simple install. Worked perfectly. I recently removed and sold them as I have installed the Audiovox CC. Perhaps there is something else interfering?

If there is I can't see it, I have never had a problem like this either. I spoke with the local shop and they said sometimes they have had to trim the end of the grip. Need to keep looking before I take that step, no coming back from that.

I also had a problem fitting the Throttlmeisters onto my Yamaha heated grips. My problem was that the insert (the friction sleeve) that goes onto the end of the tube didn't want to go "under" the rigid headed grip. I shortened it to about 1/2" and was able to push it under the grip and get the flange on the end of the metal handle tube. I did this by inserting a small screw driver under the grip and rolling it around the tube and breaking the adhesive seal of the grip to the tube. It still bulges the grip at the end but at least is is now rigid enough for the Throttlemeister to create enough compression to restrain the grip and hold it.

Hope this helps.

That I believe is exactly what is going on with my grips Ed. I will try your method and hope that it helps. If that doen't work then I am going to trim back the end of the grip a little.

Thanks for the help people. :clapping:

Don't trim/cut off the yamaha heated grips. If you cut into the wires in the grip you'll be trashing $250 - $300. worth of heated grip. If it's the friction sleeve you'r not able to get under the rubber grip. Do as suggested! Work a small flat blade screw driver between the rubber and the throttle tube the depth of the sleeve. Be careful not to damage the rubber grip/heating element.
