TireGard TPMS + 90 deg valve stems

Ok, to answer the question, the TireGuard TPMS will work on the FJR1300 with 90 degree valve stems. I have attached a few photos. It doesn't show, at this angle, but they will not interfere with the calipers in the front.

Turn the angled valves to a 45 degree angle from the wheel as opposed to 90 degree. Gain more clearance from the caliper and still have easy access. I've had them on my FZ1 like this for years and not had any issues.

 
There is plenty of clearance at 90 degree. There will not interfere with the caliper at all, and you still have easy access to put air in the tire.

 
After further inspection, I was absolutely WRONG! The TireGuard TPMS will not work w/ 90 degree valve stems, as mounted. Although they clear the rotor by quite the distance, when you roll to the caliper, the TPMS caps hit the caliper.

They will work with regular straight up valve stems, and I think you could turn the 90's quarter a turn, so they ran parallel with the tire, and it they would work.

 
I have my 90 deg valve stems turned at an angle like noted above, but I was still not comfortable with the TPMS caps so didn't install.

I have ordered the T valves and will install next tire change. To me, $26 is cheap insurance & piece of mind.

 
I had a problem with the old "red/green" indicator caps a few years back - the ones that changed color if the pressure dropped. I have trouble trusting anything that requires the valve in the stem be "open" as appears to be necessary the way the TPMS indicators work. If the cap leaks... you lose your tire pressure. The cap gives a little bit of a backup to a slow leaking stem valve. The OEM versions (in cars anyway) measures pressure on the inside of the tire, the stem valve remains closed, and a good cap helps to minimize leakage.
