Considering joining the Nerds this summer. Any suggestions on a nearby dealer? I may need a tire mid-trip....

The Yamaha/Kawasaki dealer in Burlington, VT is Roadside Marine, Burlington is about 35 miles from Stowe. Their service has been very good and their prices are probably about average for a dealer. They'll probably have Bridgestones or Metzlers in stock, but if you're looking for something else, they'll probably need to order them so you should call ahead and make sure.

There is also a Honda/Suzuki dealer in the Burlington area called Land-Air. I haven't dealt with them too much, but friends of mine seem to like them. Again, I would call ahead to make sure they have the tires you want.

Hope to see you at NERDS!

Ed.

You could try Hudson Cycle Center linky, they're competent but pricy.

Or you could drop ship to my house in Pepperell Ma, I have basic tire changing stuff. Some o' the others may have actual tire machines; I have the cheapy Harbor Freight one that doesn't work for crap, but it's a handy work stand. Also makes it easy to break the beads.

If it were during the school year we could go down to Cambridge Ringe and Latin High School in the People's Republik, my buddy teaches auto mechanics there, he rides an LT, and has the fancy tire changer/balancer stuff.

Me, I just wait for the tire to stop spinning & add weight to the high spot.
