Last Saturday, about a dozen FJRs (and an R1200RT:blink:) took exskibum(Rich) up on his offer

to lead a ride up to Lake Tahoe via Old Hwy. 40.

So, here are some photos taken on the ride.

dcarver and his dirty motorcycle arrived in Sacramento the evening before the ride.

In the morning, Bokerfork met us at my place and the three of us departed for the 20-minute ride

up to Auburn -

Working out hand signals as we left town.

The little stretch of interstate heading east and up into the foothills.

We were very early, so we had breakfast on the patio at Katrina's, where we were

joined by Rsvlfeej.

L to R - Bokerfork (Mark), Rsvlfeej (Patrick), and dcarver (Don).

Katrina's. You won't find a better breakfast anywhere. Delicious.

And they employ a gang of hot little waitresses. (I hadn't noticed, but Carver commented on it a few times.)

After breakfast, we still had 45 minutes before KSU, so we took a short ride around some pleasant local roads.

(BTW, these three boys are very good riders.)

Dern traffic. Nice scenery.

IMG_8595OOOOOO.jpg

It was time to join the group. exskibum gave us a pre-ride briefing,

"...and I always cover my front brake with my pinkie."

IMG_8608OOOOOO.jpg

Eric and Neal, containing their enthusiasm.

IMG_8609OOOOOO.jpg

tmc, Carver, and Puppychow (Sam).

IMG_8610OOOOOOO.jpg

And off we went.

I rode behind RogDeb (Roger and Deb) for a good part of the way.

IMG_8630OOOOOO.jpg

So, I got 'em in a lot of shots.

IMG_8619OOOOOO.jpg

We didn't spend much time on the interstate.

IMG_8635editOOOOOO.jpg

It was a gorgeous day.

dcarver

"They came with the purse."

Not many scenery shots, because godheppya if you stopped. You'd never see the group again.

IMG_8659OOOOOO.jpg

Highlander and dcarver and Donner Lake.

IMG_8670editOOOOOO.jpg

Bokerfork, on the only purple bike in the group. He's easy to recognize, ....unless you're from Creston.

IMG_8679editOOOOO.jpg

Okay. I'm done picking on Carver.

We stopped at the Donner Lake overlook -

- and took some pictures of each other and the view.

exskibum's bum.

RenoJohn joined us here.

L to R

Bluestreek, dcarver, Deb, Rsvlfeej, Roger, Cindy (Mrs. Bluestreek), Highlander, Bokerfork, Judy, exskibum,

Another stop for refreshments.

Big Group! nice pics, great scenery. Would have loved to join you guys if my schedule of when I was down there would have aligned. :)

Nice report OM, (as usual) and looked like I would've enjoyed myself more on this ride instead of drinking the night away in AZ. I'm glad you ended up taking it easy on D. Carver  , but I'm sure he'll get his revenge next time you're on his turf. Kudos to Rich for planning this great route and hopefully I"ll make the next one.

Makes me hate N.J. even more!

Awesome pics.

Two things:

1) disappointed in the picture of the hot waitress

2) was the bottle of JD photoshopped in?
