Dean, would have been in SA today except when taking a physical in advance of the trip to Cape Horn and return, the doc found an anuerysm on my aorta. It kinda took care of that trip, surgery in a couple of weeks. Already have a backup plan to join the MTF ride to the Cape from Phoenix in summer of 06, if I can!!

To answer Khunaiawdge, E Clampus Vitus is a fraternal organization that goes back many centuries from ancient China. It is alive and active even today as a fellowship of men only that focus on the history of our territories mostly related to the gold rush days in the West. Also we are often called a historical drinking society or a drinking historical society by those that know about the CLAMPERS(our short nickname). We support history by erecting monuments of significant value all over the areas of our territory. We have a rich tradition of the gold miners in the past. Our motto is "Credo Quia Absurdum", ie, anything absurd!!

We wear red and black clothing and have regular "doins" of camping and enjoying life in the desert and hills of the country. Membership is open for males of all kinds who want to be a Clamper to enjoy life.

Each group of Clampers is formed into various chapters and mine is "Billy Holcomb" a gold miner that works the mountains and deserts in the late 1880s-early 1900s in southern CA.
