I don't need to use my EZ-Pass to often but the last time I did, I had the transponder stuck into my tank bag under the map pocket which had a bunch of poster board direction cards in it. When I got back from my trip and got my EZ-Pass statement, 3 out of 5 of the tolls that I had gone through hadn't registered so I'm just curious where those of you who use the transponders keep them on the bike. Lately Ive been just keeping it in the top pocket of my jacket and that seems to work but I'm a little paranoid that I'm going to get the letter from the Turnpike Authority with pictures of my license plate and a hefty fine.

I've not found a reliable place to stash mine so I leave it at home. My license plate is registered to an EZPass tag so I ride through with impunity and haven't been issued a warning or received a summons. I've done this for 6 years now in MD, DE, PA and NY. The only place I experienced an issue was the Bear Mountain bridge because it lowers a gate that's hard to squeeze by.

Stuck with their velcro to the top curve of the instrument panel. Yes, right on the paint.

make sure your bike plate is listed on the ez pass forms / application along with your cars. If it is, you can notify them (ezpass) that your transponder didn't go off. they'll just deduct the toll charge,,,,, wont fine you

I have one dedicated to the FJR. It is stuck to the inside of the windscreen as low as possible using the heavy duty velcro things the EZPass provides. This works well, but if you remove the EZPass often you will wear out the velcro things and it can come loose and drop off. Been there, that's why I got a dedicated one.

I saw this and these in a magazine recently, but I have not tried them.

Heavy duty clear hook-and-loop fasteners (like velcro only better) to the top curve of the instrument panel right on the paint. In Illinois the fasteners are supplied for free. (actually my tolls pay for them I guess)

I got some hook and loop stuff from Radio Shack and have my EZPass attached on the inside of the windshield right near the bottom. Works fine and very secure.

i put mine on the inside lid of the glove compartment..works fine.
+1 I just stuck it to the bottem of the lid on the glove compartment.

Doesn't take any room inside and when you open the lid, it just moves out of the way.

I just got one of these. The instructions say it's for

inside use. I already use theglove box lid for the garage

door opener. Will rain or washing kill it if I mount it

on the windsheild?

I have mine stuck on the back of the windscreen down low where it is protected pretty well, but it still gets some water on it, especially when I wash the bike. I wouldn't expect it to work if I dropped it in a puddle, but it seems OK to be exposed to rain or the garden hose.

Mine is an EZ-Pass, which is a sturdy white case with no visible vents or other holes in the case.

When I inquired with the local toll authority about the same issue, they told me not to worry about the transponder on a M/C.

That if your plate is on file, the camera will pick you up and the computer will automatically assign the toll to the person registered to that tag.

I have been using this system for 4 years without any issues.

Mine is also in the glove box...originally with two sided tape to the top, but it fell off and seems to work fine sitting in the bottom of the glove box.

How do these guys find this stuff? Is this what we get for beating people up with the "search! search! search!" mantra? Three and four year old posts? Probably OK though, at least we don't have to go thru it all again, like the centerstand and Givi threads, just clear something up for the n00b. Good on him, he appears to have actually read some of this stuff before posting.

Mine is attached with basic velcro to the top of the brake reservoir. The windshield blocks the wind so much that I've never had a problem with it coming loose.

I think I'll try the bottom of the glove box method. I'd rather not glue something to the window.

I live in Massachusetts; nothing is connected to anything. Everything defaults to "Big Fine".

Certainly not by using the idiot forum search with the numnutz password crap.

Three and four year old posts?

Sure, why not? I have a five year old bike...

just clear something up for the n00b

Uh, not so noob. Been a member of the board since 2005. Most of my questions get asked by others, most of my answers are given by others so not many posts by me. "Better to be silent and thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt." (Mark Twain)

One of the best things about this forum is it's organization and management. Most info is pretty easy to find. Things like the Bin o' Fax are always good jumping off points. Most of the members manage not to post "me too" posts, which keeps most topics under a couple of pages long. If I ruled the world I'd prefer that replies made purely for humor or inside jokes be left out of the technical and parts sections so that critical information could be scanned through easier. Other than that I'm a happy camper, and have had many pleasant hours, days, weeks being in the room with everyone here.

Thanks to all,

Pepperell

Bummer. I'm with some of the other Texas guys here, my tag is in my desk at home, and the tolls get automatically deducted from my account, just like the ones for my cars.
