Bugman, thanks for the words and the help. I know you're there to look after things in my absence and keep away the goat fookers.

Hello from Ely, NV. Late start at noon and a short stop-over at a friend's in Carson City meant this was not a record distance day. Had a great prime rib special at Middlegate Station (home of the former famous shoe tree). Great meal, and super place if you ever want to meet some home-grown western folks who run it.

THE ELK ARE FRIGGIN HUGE!!! :dribble:

Had to rethink my 90-100 speeds across Hwy 50 when 45 miles west of Ely I came through a herd of the biggest elk I have ever seen, including one huge bull that reared up and showed me his rack...I'm not such a fan as Busta, but judging from his comment above, he must have been there.

Stop off at Moonshine, IL for a lunch, best buger ever served. It's South of Casey just off I70.

Grill closes at 12:30 sharp.

I'm in Colby KS for the night...I will be a bit late for lunch, but I'm open to suggestions west of KC.

Congrats Tom ! A new adventure to shake loose those lead boots for sure ! We'll be rooting for you...vicariously...with beer !

Blessings,

Bobby

Have no food suggestions. I do suggest you put the CC on and kick your feet up on the dashboard for a thousand miles if you aren't gonna take any fun roads on the way to your new place.

Well the recent knee surgery keeps me from kicking my right foot up on the dash, but I laid down 900 miles and made it to Plainfield IN tonight, and watched the 49ers whoop on da Bears! That rookie QB looks awful good!!

No scenery of note to report today, but passed time with my daughter tracking my progress on Google Latitude (kinda like a free Spot). Got to eat lunch at Bobo's Drive In in Topeka. Found it on the Diners Drive-Ins and Dives POI file.

I miss the bike and bendy roads.

Hey Tom , I have been out of town since last week and just read about your new adventure.

So if I read this correctly you left your Feejeer in Sac. I will be happy to run down the hill and take it out for a little 400 mile ride once a month or more to keep that awful gas from going bad in your bike- not to mention preventing flat spots on the tires. Hey what are friends for??

Best wishes for a smooth transition to your new life "back there" Let us know when you are back in the hood and need a twisty fix!

I'd like to make the same offer to someone In Pittsburgh that doesn't think winter is a suitable time to ride.

I will give a proper O.M. warning of a Spring farewell tour when I come back to pick up the bike. :clapping:
