I know how you feel Fred. The I-5 corridor was blistering hot. It has been a scorcher here in Medford. Son got married Saturday at 3pm in an outdoor service. Should have checked into a mesh tux. Wife and I are going to try and bail out of here bout 5am Thur. Breakfast in Merrill and on to Reno.

Thanks for the good will!

I bought a 100 ounce bladder from REI and will put it in an insulated 12 pack cooler bag. Ice it down with some frozen water bottles for extra water and a great ice combo. It fits very nicely on my Givi topcase rack with a small cargo net for security. Since I have a fuel cell, I can actually lean back a bit and touch the backrest pad, I am close enough so the tube just goes over the shoulder. Works well. Will have to see how it insulates in the desrert heat though.

Yeah the desert heat is a killer alright. Coming back from Ely a few weeks ago I just couldnt drink enough water! To prevent this from happening again I'm leaving in the middle of the night tonight. I guess someone 'upstairs' wants to keep me cool too.... suppose to rain heavily on me the first 300 miles of the trip.... in the middle of the night.... fun! I'm hoping this means less animals moving about in the high country.
