Go ride a Goldwing for a couple hundred miles and then get on your FJR. Maybe that'll balance the perspective from riding an FZ.

I'm 68 and did two 3000 mile trips last June and July. On both were with my buddy on his 1st. Gen FZ1. He likes his and I like mine. We traded once. He thought the FJR was too heavy and too "enclosed". I thought the FZ1 was too "exposed" and too buzzy. He can beat me on tight roads, but we don't get those all day long. I'm less fatigued after 8 hours on the road. How many miles of tight road are you really going to ride on a tour? The bike YOU like is your call.
