The outside dimensions of the GIVI V46 and E52 are almost identical.

The E52 holds a liter or two more in volume. The inside shape of E52 is more regular.

The main difference is the design of the handle.

The v46 has a recessed handle, ostensibly so it doesn't bump and break, but it steals interior space.

The E52 handle is outside the storage box.

PS - you may not be able to find accurate dimensions in catalogue or on web, having researched the issue pretty thoroughly myself.

IMHO, the V46 is a little more stylish, not quite as practical. I have E46. I like it.

Easier to fit 2 full-size helmets in E52, but will fit in V46also. <<When you're not riding & have your gear out>>

Great feedback, thanks all! I am leaning towards the E52 for the practicality and looks (not such a fan of the Jetsons) and have been scouring fleabay for a few weeks. What, nobody gets tired of these boxes?

Comparisons:

E52: 52 litres capacity 593mm wide 315mm high 447mm 'front to back'

V46: 46 litres capacity 565mm wide 320mm high 430mm 'front to back'

Or, in 'mercian, the E52 holds 13% more, is 1 inch wider, 1/4 inch lower and 3/4 inch deeper front to back.

I have an E52 which is great when we are travelling, but for most riding I actually have an E260 Micro mounted. Takes me about 3 minutes to swap the mounting plates over - yes, they have different mounting plates, and I made an adapter plate so the smaller one also fits on the E52 rack.
