Just wanted to check to see if anyone with a black bike or car has tried this. Trying to find something to take out swirl marks from tank bag, zipper scratches, etc.

I have not used this type of wax.

Tank bag "swirl" marks are usually deeper scratches and would may constitute some sort of two stage polishing compound, and then wax. Or maybe just a simple polish, not wax and polish, but just plain fine polish. I use Dupont No.7 polish for scratches and a carnuba wax after that, or a superfine polish like Auto-Glymn (British stuff ya know).

Haven't used it on the bike (it is beyond help), but have had good results on my truck (which is also beyond help)

In another life I got a gift certificate from a Harley dealer and picked up some Mother's Scratch and Swirl remover. Worked really well. I tried to find a link for you but could not, maybe not made any more. The Meguire's stuff in barb's link might be similar stuff.

I had a black car I bought new in 1995. I used a multi-step set of products from Meguiars including a swirl remover, a glaze, and wax. By the time the car was 6 years old there was no clearcoat left, and I was taking paint off when I waxed the car (applicator turning black.) I'd be careful with those "cleaner" type products.

This wasn't something I did every week or two. I'd do a thorough clean and detail seasonally, like beginning and end of summer. Doing it more often was too much like work!

Well, I spent the $20 for the Black Box kit...damn stuff looks like black tar when it comes out the bottle. I did all the 3 steps, and I have to say, most of the scratches and swirls were greatly reduced, and the wax job does make the paint blacker and glossier than other waxes. I think I'll stick with it.

I then bought some Nu Finish Scratch Doctor (based on a consumer report #1 rated)...that stuff got even more of the scratches out. There are still some slight swirls and scratches, but I'd say only about 10-20% of what was there before.
