From Catblu of AZB: I took the Edelweiss Andalucia tour in 2001 and just signed up for the "Best of Europe" tour Oct 9, 2013. Not sure I would do a scooter tour unless I had one that would keep up with the natives.
Spent 4 weeks in Tuscany just a few years ago and stationed in Germany I was always down there on my 1966 BMW R60/2 with only 30 horsepower, 300cc scooters are just fine for the Tuscany area. Hell's Bell's, I would bet $$$ a 2013 300cc modern scooter would smoke my old R60/2 in a quarter mile drag race!
Please Note: Just for grins and giggles I dug up the specs for the 300cc Scooters we Forumites will be renting:
"This 300 cc motor scooter features front and rear disk brakes (/2 brakes are DEADLY!), 12" cast alloy wheels, an oversize 2 rider seat, 22hp and a top speed of 85 mph. Also included is a small wind screen."
Now here is the real kicker, even though
allegedly my R60/2 had 30hp, my 1966 would never run faster than 65-70 mph; it would only hit 85 if it fell off of a cliff!
