I've been struggling with this since I bought this bike (my first street bike). I've exhausted all my normal avenues for help so I'm posting this question here. My bike has two clutch handles - one for the left hand and one for the right hand. The left hand clutch works great but the right hand clutch is terrible! Every time I use it the bike screeches to a halt no matter what gear I'm in. WTF? My local Yammah dealer told me I should sell the bike. What is that suppose to mean?

Get an AE. It only has one. Half as complicated....

You think you got problems, Slo-Ride! My '04 FJR has two brake levers, just like my Vespa scooter. The right hand brake stops the front wheel just fine, but the left-hand does nothing except sometimes it makes the engine roar. Maybe we could get together and swap one of your clutches for one of my brakes.

You didn't post this in the Jokes section, but I still can't help but think you are kidding. Please tell me you are, in fact, kidding?

Just for the record, if you are not kidding, your dealer is correct, sell the bike. The left handle is a clutch, the right handle is the front brake.

I can see why you chose the name slo-ride...fast-ride would have been completely inappropriate for your two clutch handles...

since you're an accomplished bike rider/wrencher you can now remove both handles on you feejer and use it as a generator...

Since one of your recent post is about how you've managed to put 1600 miles on your bike - I doubt it's true that you actually think the front brake lever is a clutch - if so your incredibly lucky you've survived the streets so far on a rear brake alone.

The dealer is correct - sell your bike - :withstupidsmiley: :dribble:

The one on the right is used only for riding in the rain. Don't worry, you'll never need it.

You've spent too much time arresting stupid people! :p

Simple Fix. Use the left clutch lever to change gears and the right clutch lever to slow down. Pretend it's a brake.

We don't know how old he is. My 80-year-old neighbor once came to me complaining that she'd had her car serviced and they'd reversed the clutch and the brake pedals.

:yahoo:

Sorry guys. I just had to do that. I did post it on Friday (morning) and since it's the 4th of July - well, heck - I thought a little fireworks would be appropriate.
