After a 2008 (lost in a divorce), a 2012 (lost in a Calgary accident), I've been the owner of a 2014 FJR for two months as of yesterday.

3750 KMs (2,330 miles) in two months, given the season, isn't bad. And every single centimetre/inch has been a blast.

I'm not a hugely experienced rider and don't have the depth of knowledge of the bike or motorcycle mechanics in general many of you have but I can say it's the best motorcycle I've ever owned.

I owe a huge debt of gratitude to my friend, Lesley Christensen and the folks at Holeshot Motorsports in Langley, BC for making it possible. My FJR is literally my "mental health companion". 2014 wasn't a great year for me but being able to ride helps take some of the load off.

I hope to see some of you soon and that everyone has a safe and fun 2015 on their FJRs!

Welcome to the clan. Nice looking machine. Needs farkles, so lots to do over the winter season. Should the riding bug bite move on south to LA for a ride. The season is still on....

P.S don't get divorced again!

"Welcome to the clan. Nice looking machine."

Thanks! Been a member since 2008 though.

Not much of a farkle guy. Those damn things cost money. The stock bike is pretty damn good.

Once I'm allowed back in your lovely country, I may do just that.

I'll try not to marry another crazy person!

Nice pic Shawn! A little cold this week, but no excuse not to get out while the roads are decent.

Keep in mind there will likely be a PNW Tech Day in the spring...everyone's welcome!

Thanks! Little too chilly for me. I've got the heated gear but I worry about ice on the roads so I don't go out when it's this close to freezing.

Cool - I'll be sure to join when I'm allowed back into your lovely country. :)

Good thread. I'm closing in on 3K on mine, 2 months next week. Stay warm.

Nothing but the best of thoughts for you Shawn. Many on this board (me included) have married "crazies" in the past, and 2014 will be best left behind for Me n Deb.

Enjoy the new ride

"Therapy." Yeah, me too. Lots of evenings (after 10 pm), I put on the suit and buzz through the Atlanta suburbs for an hour or more. No blazing speeds, but a steady pace at the speed limit to 5 mph over.

These are very familiar roads 'cause I ride them two or three times a week, and the objects of each ride are:

1) try to maintain a steady speed (no problem with cruise control),

2) be a good citizen to other road users, and

3) smell the flowers in spring, the mowed lawns in summer, and the fallen leaves in autumn.

4) Oh yeah, and forget about all the bad **** for a while.

Hope 2015 treats you very well, brother.
