I have to mention my youngest of two daughters, Mary Beth (14) was given an IPod.

She gathered her CD's and loaded them on her computer and downloaded her songs to her IPod.

Then she came to me and asked if she could look at my PC and check out my songs. Could she download some of my stuff?

I said sure and she asked me what I might recommend and what she might like.

I said that I've played for her in the past the Beatles. You like the Beatles, Mary Beth. There are two double albums of the best of the Beatles. OK, Dad. And you like the Monkees, copy the Best of the Monkees album. OK, Dad, sounds good. What about something good I've haven't heard at least lately. OK Mary Beth, I like Journey...copy the best of Journey.

Well, she copies these songs and more. Listening to part of some of the songs, she brightened up with glee.

"Thanx Dad, wow, I like those songs FROM THE LAST CENTURY."

Geez, I'm a "last century guy".

Sounds like you older folk were spoiled, you always knew mom would be home to cook you lunch / dinner, didn't have to worry about strangers taking / molesting you while you played outside, you knew your boundaries and if you overstepped them you were told, didnt have ten thousands shows on TV telling you how inadequate you, your family, your car, your clothes, your house, etc were. All you had to do was be a kid. Now us spoiled kids and our kids cant just play outside shoot one spoiled 30 year old just was returned to her parents 18 years after she was taken in plain sight of her parents. Other Kids sit in their home safe playing video games eating whatever they can microwave because their mom isnt home to cook for them. So they eat the wrong food watch the wrong TV programs and make bad decisions with no one there to tell them they are making bad choices. Man sounds like us 30 and younger crowd have it made. Then we get to listen to the older generation that RAISED us tell us how bad we are and how good we have it. My 2 cents.
