Jasen, when I was in the Navy, I was assigned to the Blue Angels when they were in my jurisdiction and had to be ready to do what I do if needed. I had that view with an official badge. It was Awesome!

It's crazy, I've sat on that peak and the view is so amazing up there that I could sit up there all day long in awe. I cannot imagine having them come tearing around the valley unannounced like that as well.

Way cool! I have looked down on F18's playing in Death Valley from up on Hunter Mountain.
Same here! Me and a couple of riding buddies were in the vacinity of Ballarat (the ghost town in the Panamint Range near Death Valley) when a couple of F-18s came roaring by hot-dogging it. They saw us and decided to give us a mini air show including some full AB buzz jobs right over the top of us.

That's a lot of Thunderbirds! The formation has six jets, which is what they use in demonstrations, and then two singles came in to join up. OK, I know they own more than six jets, but I've never seen more than six flying together.

Back in the day when they flew F4 Phantoms, the crew chief flew backseat from base to base, logged many hrs for a enlisted man.
