REQUEST: please let's not turn this into a politicized gun thread. (I'm not knocking the common sense wisdom of things not being the same after pulling the trigger, but pro and anti gun comments have gotten threads closed before).
I concur!

This thread isn't about guns but about the actions someone took on a motorcyclist.

If anyone is interested, the links provided take one to the newspaper and they have more links to various testimony. THAT might give one a better glimpse at the evidence the jury used to render their decision.

Regardless of the jury's decision or anyone's thoughts, Mr. Mough's family had a rather bleak Thanksgiving and are facing an even darker Christmas while dealing with the loss.

One thing for sure we only heard part of what happened. There is a lot more information out there tha needs to be know before judgement can be passed. Is he guilty yes and no.
His judge ment most likely will be, man-slaughter or hung jury. I do not think there is a penalty for being just stupid, as was Mr. Gear was.

That is why I do not own any guns, once you pull the trigger nothing is ever the same :trinibob:
You're absolutely right; nothing is ever the same, but I like to control my own destiny. If the gun's in MY hand, I get to make the choice; if the gun's in the other guy's hand, HE makes the choice.

No politics and no flames. You have the right to your opinion, and I respect that - just food for thought.

As far as the case at hand goes, with even the limited history we know about him, the shooter was obviously looking for trouble, (who knows, maybe his girls were, too) and it would appear that justice was served.

One thing's for sure.... you're going to have a hard time arguing self defense when you've shot someone in the back on a public roadway, but I think this has always been true, even in the old west.

Wondering what some of the bikers in prison are gonna think of this.
Reminds me of one comment posted on the verdict web page, in reply to someone lamenting how the state is now going to have for his kidney medication:

Yeah, he can count on getting his prostate massaged on a regular basis. Maybe that will help his kidney disease.

No remorse here.... too bad he is likely to get AIDS from one of the many biker-boyfriends he will be forced to 'service" over the next couple of decades. They don't call it the "pokey" for nothing.

Happy Holidays, Mr. Gear. Too bad we can't wish the same for the young man whose life you snuffed out.
