FUZZY BALLS!!!

Good to see you're still here. Dang this has been a rough few months for us.

:jester:

Glad to hear that you're more-or-less OK. Replacing a broken bike is what we pay the insurance for. Good job on the ATGATT, which certainly saved you from much worse injuries.
And at this rate none of us will be able to afford the insurance.

V65 were you in 5th gear on that corner?
heh heh, nope. 2nd with the revs up, makes the roll on more exciting.

What tires were you using?
You mentioned tire pressure that you used. Were tires up to temp..or a little bit cold still?
This road is four miles from my house, not my first time up there, and not the fastest i've ever been on it. Something was different that day, in hindsight I should have warmed the tires more and dropped a few psi. Might have saved the day. Any way you look at it, rider error.

Glad you're gonna live. Sorry to read about the trashed body and bike, but considering, you fared well.

2nd gear, hammering the throttle at 60 mph? Have you considered maybe you're getting a little old to be hunting for adrenaline rushes? ;) When you get back on a bike, consider trying out The Pace.

Now heal up fast, ya damn fool. :arrowheadsmiley: Your post count is going to go through the roof if you don't go riding soon.

I am glad you are okay, and thank you for posting pictures.

I have a Rev'It Turbine jacket, and it fits loose to begin with. Coupled with some weight loss, the jacket isn't snug enough in my forearms.

I ordered a replacement jacket yesterday, and I really appreciate you posting the pictures. I am sorry you got injured.

Really sorry to hear about the crash, but glad you're okay for the most part!

I've broken my left hand three times - all sports-related. I highly recommend Dragon Naturally Speaking if you're in any sort of technology work and need to get text on a screen. It's great voice-to-text technology, and if you put a little bit of work into "training" it, it will do great things for you.

Good luck to you... Heal fast.

And thanks for the reminder to stay a bit conservative and wear the gear.

Thank GOD you are alright! I can post a few pics of almost identical road rash on both my arms from a 25 mph get off with only a T shirt and blue jeans. I wonder how you got rash with no ride up of the jacket sleeve?????

Have to say i'm going to miss it, man the feej in 2nd at about 7k rpm is a rip roaring beast. will have to save that for the straights i guess. :( maybe i should get a 'busa

Excellent write up, photos, documentation. We can learn a lot from your experience and I'm glad you're still around to tell us about it.

I'm dissapointed in the road rash you got through the Rev'it jacket. Did you have the standard back pad in the jacket or did you upgrade to the full CE approved back pad? Also, were you wearing jeans under your tourmaster riding pants?

What kind of shoes/boots were you wearing?

Damn v!! Sorry to hear about your spill. Glad to know it wasnt the worst. Heal up fast!! It's a back in the saddle thing!! :clapping:

Dang....bad news and good news all "mingled" together.

Let's not do that again!

Road rash through the gear? Is it possible that it's a road "burn"? I suffered an incident wearing Kilimanjaro where I had a burn on my left forearm and elbow. It's one of the main reasons I changed to a CyclePort Kevlar suit, since "crash tested" for the good of potential forum purchasers.

Be sure and let Howie know where he can buy a decent used engine...... :dribble:

You're not as young and quick as you used to be V65, hammer 3rd gear instead of 2nd in the future. Not quite the hit, but still warps time and space, just doesn't break the back loose so easy. ;)

You, a 'Busa? YGTBSM, you'd never survive!! 1st will do the ton, who needs the rest of those gears?

I think that he got the friction burn from inside the jacket. His Web page with a more complete write-up stated that the outside of the jacket arm held up. This is why I'm nervous about the loose fit of the Turbine, coupled with my weight loss. I would probably suffer the same fate, if not worse, if I had a similar accident today.

But I may be misinterpreting what I read.
