<----- Used my V1 a lot when I had this, and it worked very well.

Don't like all that crap on my bike, so never did install it.

I had pretty much figured out how to use my RD and had good situational awareness two years ago on my way down to Cincinnati. Cruising along amongst the traffic, making good time...no alerts from my Passport, but I knew something was up because brake lights were popping up about as far ahead as I could see, so I slowed down. Sure enough I came upon an OHP sitting along the side, which made me smile as I passed it, knowing I slowed in time, well before she could possibly have zapped or timed me. Much to my surprise she pulled out, lights come on and pulled in behind me. As I was pulling off my helmet in bewilderment, she walks up and says officer so-and-so in the aircraft overhead is issuing you a speeding ticket. Damn! I forgot about the airplanes. So much for S.A. Frickin airplanes.

Damn Airplanes.. I hate when they get used for nefarious purposes. :)

As a 'ham' operator, I used to listen to the extender frequency used by the CHP. It was the same, statewide. The beauty of that, was it was also the frequency the 'airplane' used to communicate with his ground minions.. I always got at least a 2-5 mile advance warning when approaching an "air-bear" setup. Plus, I 'heard' every 'local' CHP officer that was out of his cruiser on a stop...or just having coffee.
