i had the following email conversation with the makers of the 'vista cruise'...
does anybody have an unused clip from the vista cruise i can buy/have...
my thought is that if i heat it and bend it flat, then there should be no breakage...
tia,

Dana.
We would like to honor your request, but the clips are made from heat
treated spring steel. The chance of flating the clip, with out braking it,
is almost zerro.>Even if you did flaten it the old joint will be so weak
that it would be unsafe to use.
Our official position, because of liability, is we do not fit that bike
with any of our cruise controls.
