i had the following email conversation with the makers of the 'vista cruise'...

does anybody have an unused clip from the vista cruise i can buy/have...

my thought is that if i heat it and bend it flat, then there should be no breakage...

tia,

dana

Dana.

We would like to honor your request, but the clips are made from heat

treated spring steel. The chance of flating the clip, with out braking it,

is almost zerro.>Even if you did flaten it the old joint will be so weak

that it would be unsafe to use.

Our official position, because of liability, is we do not fit that bike

with any of our cruise controls.

Hi Dana,

I was out at WPB for the first time back in March. Visiting my father at his timeshare, actually in West Palm Beach Shores. Very nice. Great little vacation.

I may have the clip you desire, but am not sure which one. Got a pic?

Also, see the following thread for some alternative Vista-Cruise mounting methods: CLICKY HERE

I put a vista cruise on my FJ this weekend. I sawed off the plastic tab and used a tiny sheet metal screw to fasten it to the cable housing. It works great. I used the clip(modified with my grinder) on my FZ and I like the new way I did it better.

Dana, take your broken clip to someone with a mig welder, get them to weld the broken end back on, in the opposite direction, then size it up to your throttle winder. See pictures attatched, if they come through,

I did this mod the other day, it works great! If you need any more help on this, just ask.

the clip is shown in the image that 'bullit' posted...

i was attaching it to the upper mounting screw so i could more easily flic the VC on/off.

thanks for the help and ideas..
