I agree with the others who have said that laying the groundwork for NAFO 2010 might be something to think about.
How big is a NAFO likely to be by 2010? Would a Brier Inn be capable of handling such an event? If so, I would say that Lewisburg would be a premium destination to show off to our brothers and sisters from across the country.
NAFO 2008 was supposed to be a little over 300. I'm not sure what the final attendance was. The attendance at NAFO 2010 might be lower on account of most of the WFO crowd (who were a large part of the NAFO turnout) are basically ******s and poseurs. There's not much chance of too many of them showing up*.
One possibility, and I'm not recommending it, just pointing it out, is to use both hotels at the Lewisburg location. The Hampton Inn is pretty much at the back door of the Brier Inn. Shirley, the two hotels could handle the attendance, should one or two of the WFO crowd grow a pair by then*. There are a few in the WFO crowd who would really enjoy hanging out at the back door. I'm thinking: SkooterG and odot, to name a couple.
...actually, I think they broke up. Seems that photo from the Playa caused a little jealousy to rage.
The vicinity of The Dragon is also something to think about. Many from the left coast who have never been might be persuaded to come to NAFO if that location were part of the package (<===== odot might be persuaded to come if I just use the word package. Heh).
That said, the roads in the vicinity of Lewisburg are comparable, the people are friendly, the local economy is cheap, cheap, cheap, and then there's that matter of tradition.
* It's a virtual Friday for me, as I hit the hay early last night.
