Yeah I miss the old days too so I am trying to help us return to the good old days. I need help for sure.

This goes to show that idiots are everywhere and are strategically placed so we run into at least one every day.

Around here we blame it on Kali just because it seems to fit.

Kali drivers are not a problem in OR. OR-gonians are resentful of Kali folks moving into their state and driving up Realestate prices. How about that silly law where you cannot pump your own gas in OR? You can pump your own if fueling a motorcycle. I once asked a gas station owner why this law exists. He said it was a safety issue. I responded, if that was the case, CA would have passed such a law in a NY minute. After further inquiry, I learned it was to provide jobs for unemployed rocket scientists.

As well you should be! . . . . . +1, Gunny!

So, why would you want to stand outside in the pouring rain just so you can pump your own gas? Well, I guess if you're from Calphonia you might especially if you haven't got good sense. Not to imply Caliphonians haven't got good sense but then again if the shoe fits.....just sayin'.

Your gas pumps don't have covers? 99% of the pumps I see are covered. All except some little town Texaco, where the gas is probably full of water anyway.

NJ also has (had?) an "only we can pump your gas" law. Thought I would get assaulted as I jumped out of my car and grabbed the hose.

Who would have thought NJ and OR have something in common?

Yeah most gas pumps have covers but a lot of good that does in a driving rain and wind gusts around 40+ mph and it does rain in these parts. Been here most of my life and have to be careful because if you stand in one spot moss will surely grow on your north side. Really, who the hell wants to pump their own gas anyway?

Fair enough! Rain like that in NM is rare. I guess pumping gas isn't great, but I'm not keen on people touching my stuff. I'm a little OCD about it.

Good news for you folks in states that aspire to be the worst. The Montana highway death totals in each of the last two years have dropped. Guess we are losing our edge.
