I frequent this site occasionally. Primarily to see what tricks and gear FJR riders are using. Good info on tires, gadgets and others stuff that relate to sport touring specifically can be found on any ST oriented website so there are several I read for said reason. The fjrforum is no exception.

In the past I've given your own "Wicked Webby" (Matt) a hard time in a fun sort of way.

I finally met Mr. Matt at West Yellowstone recently. He is a great guy and enthusiastic about riding. A little "balls to the wall" edgy...but then he's only in his 30's. ;) Matt has a beautiful bike...and in spite of the fact it's an FJR it STILL hauls azz. :p I think I overheard Rich say he got a GPS verified 157 top speed on his beast during this trip!

Of course what Rich didn't tell me was he threw it off a cliff to attain that velocity. :D

Seriously though - Matt, it was enjoyable meeting you and seeing your "world famous" FJR in person. Hope to ride with you sometime in the future. And just think Matt...when you get a little older...you might be able to handle one of these!

Is that one of those Teeyawanna police bikes?! I knew they decorated all the taxis like that... but the bikes too!?

Actually, it's nice to see someone take the time and effort to customize beyond stick-ons/add ons. Nice work!

I didn't know Nissan made a GT-R bike.

I call RICE!

- improper badging

- type R "sticker"

Cody,

Hahahahahaha! Wish I was still closer to 30 than 40.. But 30'ish works for me!!

I will say it again (here on the forum). Your C14 is a very sweet *** ride! It is done up just as I would if I had a C14. The green really spices it up and is a great retro Kawasaki reminder. As you know, I have owned plenty of Kawasaki's and can appreciate yours all day long. If I was into them high maintenance speed demon gals (valves.. poke..poke..poke) I'd would be all over yours.. But as you know, I am in love me FJR. She is a low maintenance speed demon and has been such a loyal friend:

Rich did tell you correct. Believe it or not, with both my saddlebags packed completely FULL, my rear tail pack packed completely FULL, and my large tank bag packed completely FULL. I was able to get my best girl to give me a solid 157 (true speed on GPS) on a straight away out there. Sorry to my fellow conservative riders here... I had to see what she could do all mule packed up. I wasn't disappointed. Though, my girl is not stock and has had her share of performance surgery.. See my Hp/Tq recipe if you want your girl to SCREAM like mine!

Here is a pic of my girl with her best girl friend (Motor659's C14) on top of a mountain:

I will be doing a ride report sooner than later.

Cody, it was great to meet you out there in Gods Country. I found you to be a wealth of knowledge, regardless to what brand sport tourer you ride (nudge, nudge..). Come browse here anytime. Your inputs here are always welcomed by me. It is funny, after having razzed with you on the forum, I expected you to be a completely different person. I was pleasantly surprised and very happy to meet someone else that shares such a motorcycling passion and isn't a bullshitter. Hopefully we will see you next year.

Take care of yourself Cody,

Old Michael,

No hijack.. I like the looks of the FJR too! Though, we all know looks are such a personal preferance....

I got a good buddie married to a 300 pound hog and he makes sweet love with her everynight....

Who is I to tell um she ain't no good for um?!?!?!

Hehehee.....

Seriously though, If I didn't have a FJR, I would own a C14.

They are both AWESOME bikes. All about preferences. It takes a little tweaking to get the C14 to be as good of a tourer (my buddy is adding a aux fuel tank to his to be able to get some FJR range) and it took a little tweaking from me to get my FJR to be a great sport performer.

All about what you like...

Skooter,

We didn't even get a chance to race um. Cody wasn't at the Hotel when I arrived. My group didn't even get into West Yellowstone until late Weds evening (almost dark). Conditions were just not favorable, rain was on the horizon, temps were pretty cool and the whole night time and animal thing didn't seem to make a good mix for some high speed manuevers... Despite what some might say.. I really ain't that speed crazy(all the time). We ran into each other in the lobby (on our way out to dinner). We were gonna try and ride the next morning but Cody and his Buddie (great guy too!) were heading out way earlier that we were even gonna get up.. :( . Kinda funny, but I ran into Cody a second time (after we got back to the Hotel that evening) in the lobby and we spoke again. Very nice guy, and I think that we both were on the same page with regards to racing.. Just wasn't worth it considering the conditions.

Very nice looking C14!

I notice the water-heater sized exhaust canister has been replaced with a dual muffler set-up. Big improvement!

I'm still happy about my FJR though.

Yo WW........
So did you kick Cody's ***, or what?
In the twisties I wouldn't even "test" Matt. If I could just stay within sight of his tailight I'd be proud. :agree:

It would have been fun though doing a top end run. No doubt he's got a fast FJR.

Hey Matt...maybe you can roll with me and Dave (a Busa buddy) to Big Bend National Park in the Spring. We ride in the mountians of west Texas every year usually in the spring. The desert of Texas is a great place to ride for a combination of twisties and terminal velocity playing...great roads...no people.

Here's pics of the trips if you're interested: Bend Bend and a Busa - Trip Report

Again...great meeting you.

Well, Thanks for that Cody.

I suspect your no slouch in the corners either...

I have been trying to re-hab my old speed racer habits.

Slow down, smell the roses, take in all the scenery and

try not to always be 1ST :yahoo: !!!!. Getting past ONE of

this TWELVE step program has been a *****!

West Texas sounds like a lot of fun! Hmmm.. I wonder how to

convince Momma.. Would Dave let me give his Busa a

a quick merciless beating? Hahahaha!

Thanks for the invite.. I would love to go.

Let me see what I can figure out

(What Momma says).

BTW, Very sweet trip report.

Cody,

Checked out your ride report on the other forum. That was awesome. I would love to ride some of those roads on my Feej, only ever done them in a cage, but you brought back some desert memories. The story about the cop was great. B)

Would Dave let me give his Busa aa quick merciless beating? Hahahaha!

Are you practicing for comedy central? Or do you have tremors with those delusions?

Stay in touch.

Pilot - The story about the trooper still amazes me to this day. At times it almost seems like a dream. Then I call Dave up and he reminds me "IT REALLY HAPPENED!"

Sufficed to say I hope I never put myself in that position again. I've never gone to the houskow...and I don't want to.

Hahahah.. Funny!

WW

:D
Well when I locked horns with him it WAS funny in a strange way. I could "kinda - sorta" keep up for a while but once we hit that 150 to 160 range he really walked away fast. It is very strange to be on a bike doing 150+ and another bike just literally walks away effortlessly. But then you already know this having had numerous sportbikes.

If your "Boss" lets you ride Texas next year I'm sure Dave would oblige you and let you can experience this for yourself.

Cody,

I will send a memo up to the boss along with all them over due TPS reports (loved that movie..Office Space).

I will let ya know what her ruling is...

WW

Cool!

No need to push to hard yet since it's months away. But planting a seed doesn't hurt.
