I suggest we let Salish do what he wants and get this out of his system. It'll make him feel better. It's His money.

If his nail is going into the "Crack", it should at least get looked at. Who knows, he might have the first cracked hub on an FJR Ever. :)

I have to agree there and would want to get it on record if possible. Most likely if it isn't leaking oil that would be as far as I would take it. I still like my first idea!

Good luck, let us know what happens.

Ok naysayers, you were right. Took it to dealer who cleaned a bit away to show it is cosmetic. Sure didn't feel cosmetic, but I'm glad I had it checked.

Yes, it would have bugged me until...I'm wired in such a way that I don't forget about little things that don't seem right with my machines. I'm an avid sailor and cruiser here in the PNW and I methodically mentally review every system all the time to consider weaknesses. It's a bit OCD, but I think all good sailors who maintain their own boats as I do are this way. Motorcyclists who maintain their own bikes are much the same, in my view. You either care about the little things working right, or throw caution to the wind and say screw it. Both work to achieve different desired outcomes!

Ahhhh, OCD. It's ok. Most of us have that. Some more than others. That's why I Chose to let you go for it. Now you know. I'm kinda the same way. I'm not a boat guy. I'm an airplane guy. Same thing, different altitudes. :)
