What's the bike you're looking hard at these days?

For me... the most likely next bike is a KTM 990 Adventure. What a riot to ride, those things are. If money were more loose, I'd look at a Multistrada, and if money tightens up, it'll be a DR650. I guess there's something of a theme there, though I'd not take a Multistrada on dirt.

Interesting question... and some interesting answers so far.

It would be great if Yammie came out with a WR450R (fuel injected / dual sport) big brother to the WR250R that I have in the garage, but not really riding, right now. The two fiddy is just a tad bit too small for a big guy like myself.

The KTM dual sport adventures are sweet, but since they are essentially race engines with a plate slapped on, they require much more maintenance than the Yamaha. I can't imagine riding a big KTM single long distances. You'd be changing the oil every other day. But I know hat people do it.

A Ducati Multistrada would be nice, but too much coin to go out and thrash in the dirt. Same with a new Triumph Explorer or Tenere, but maybe in a few years when the used market is full of good deals on low mile bikes.

I wouldn't mind finding a nice blackbird to put in the shed and take out on weekend dates. I wouldn't want to make it my "regular" ride though, a bit too sporty for my frame size to reel off long days in the saddle. More comfy for smaller riders.

Right now, I'm lookin' around and thinking that my two main bikes are a pretty good fit, the '05 FJR and '04 Manstrom do just about anything I could ask of them short of gnarly offroading. Think I'll just sit on those two for a while longer.

I love motorcycles!!! I'd like to have (5) different motorcycles.

1. FJR - Keep it and use it as my main workhorse and touring bike.

2. Ducati Diavel - 162hp & a 240mm rear tire...for when I feel like channeling my inner bad ass.

3. Kawasaki Vaquero - Comfort cruiser for lazy Sunday afternoon rides when I'm in no hurry to get anywhere in particular.

4. Triumph Tiger SE ABS - New nimble 1050cc dual sport for exploring all the gravel FS roads in the Appalachians.

5. Brass Balls Bobbers "69" bike - Always had a thing for old school Bobbers. Love to have this bike for around town.

5 bikes, all different, all offer something unique, one for each day of the work week. If I ever win the lottery it's on like donkey kong!

I satisfied my lust (for a while) when I bought this bad boy in April and now with over 5k miles on it I'm still lusting to ride it.

Exsakibum was close. Not an adventure but a Supermoto T and with the Akrapovic cans you can't beat the v twin rumble- well maybe after 300 miles my butt is doing the rumble. This is just a FUN bike to ride in the twistys of Northern Ca.
