Uh oh... To NEPRT you go, in... 5... 4.... 3...

I use Rotella-T, 15w-40 dino juice, and the Walmart SuperTech 7317 oil filter.

Just got a UNI airfilter.

Try starting here. NEPRT

Oh Nooooooooooooooooo. Not another oil thread it's not even friday! I use Shell Rotella Synthetic and I think it was an STP filter. Ever since I found out I can do an oil change at Walmart and save me some coin, I'm a happy camper. :yahoo:

You'd think a guy with 166 posts would know better, or at least wait until Friday....

I don't use filters, the damn things just kept getting plugged up and made the bike go slow!

It's not an oil question. It's a brand of filters, that is all.

Why use anything but OEM filters? I've seen more engine failures due to AM oil filters than one could imagine.

I have no problem with using Yamaha product, I was only asking. Some people use Hi-Flo filters and some use other brands.

Here's what my Yammie gets for oil and filters....

Air Filter - K&N

Oil Filter - Original Yamaha (nothing but!!)

Engine Oil - MOTUL 5100 10W40 Synthetic

Drive Shaft Gear Oil - Yamaha 9079E-SH001-00

Is there really a benefit of using K&N air filter? The Yamaha original air filter is around $20.00 and K&N is $70.00. I understand that $70 will last forever, but I jsut dont know about if there is really that much of a benefit.

Me 3. Been using them for years.

(without engine failures) (and I can only imagine a few failures do only to yahoos that put on a filter that did not fit right and totaly did not notice the oil leaking out)

Or they bought a Framm filter.........................

;)
