As I sit here in Canada up to my butt in the white stuff I started to wonder what Yamaha could do to

improve the FJR? I have a 2015 and see the later 6 speed, the slipper clutch, ES and corning lights which are all good BUT what would even make the bike better? It's hard to imagine anything that would make me say. " I want that!! "

1. More color choices would be good.

2. Maybe seat choices.

3. More power? For those that never have enough.

4. Cheaper price. Yeah right like that's going to happen.

So fellow FJR owners what could Yamaha do to make us need one?

I would like to see them begin to import the YCCS (AE in USA) model again. Otherwise, no suggestions. Maybe do a better job with the seat.

If we want to nit pick there are a few things be sides the obiouse seat improvement. 1. Luggage slightly larger to be able to hold extra large helmet, 2. A power outlet that is not in the glove box to use for a gps and one that is capable of supporting an air compressor, 3. for those of us from the northern part of the states, a damper to close of some of the air coming in behind the wind screen, 4. tools to be able to take the fromt tire off if you have a flat.

I have a 2016 ES and there are a couple of things I would improve if I could. Mostly having to do with programming stuff.

Larger decimal point for the trip meters.

4 preset levels for the grip heaters.

Voltage display available.

A compass.

1st gear could be slightly shorter.

The stock mirror placement is horrible.

+1 on the mirror placement. No excuse for this having been fixed.

A Black Cherry A model in about four more years. Mine might be worn out by then!

Black Cherry! I'd sell my 2015 to buy a Black Cherry with six gears and LED lights!

Auto cancelling turn signals of course. For those of us forgetful ones that wake up in a new world everyday.

Yes! Give me auto cancelling turn signals! Black Cherry and auto cancelling turn signals! I would jump on that new bike!

The bike is too light. Heavy it up so it cruises better and with less surge

Get rid of one of those 6 gears, but don't go back to the old 5 speed. Just get ride of 3rd and/or 4th gear

Install cattle prod elements in the hand grips if you forget to turn off your turn signals

More power, better MPG, cheaper, faster....all at the same time

A better side stand. They're still defective.

Offer a non-ABS model again....or at least one without ES

Try a model that has a clutch (opposite of the AE), but with a 6 speed throttle and optional button to change it 92 times in one second

11 preset heated grip levels, but make that 11th just the extra bit....because it goes to Eleven!

Supercharged

Skid plate

More aerodynamic and smaller mirrors

Bagliners made out of pony hide and unicorn fur

A shorter windhshield with a reverse reverse contour to help funnel air into the rider's chest

A 380 watt alternator like V-Stroms had

Get rid of that useless glove box and replace it with a second battery to turn things over when the won't start

Cupholder

Stickier 195 tire on the rear and car tire on the front

Smaller brakes to reduce unsprung mass

Lighter subframes

FInally, bring back the old valve guide design! Randomly having every tenth FJR progressively blow oil and sound like a sewing machine made them more interesting.

Gosh, why didn't anybody think of doing this before.

* Couple more gears

* Easy off and on plastics

* Good sturdy internal bracket for mounting the mirrors. You know, unbreakable.

* Quick battery access for jump starts (jump starting other bikes, you understand).

* Spare tire

* Red lights and siren

But wait.....there's more....
