$.298 a mile, considering the IRS gives $.54, I think that is pretty good. Less to ride than drive my car. I have a SAAB, so the maintenance alone is $472 a mile.

And yes, compared to my boat, this things is a damned good deal!

Plus you don't have to pay to store the bike.

But that per-mile cost is misleading. I don't get into my f-150 and drive a couple hundred miles on a Saturday just for the hell of it. :D

Verrrry interesting....

Better yet compare to the costs of other hobbies...such as a BOATS $$$

HORSES $$$$

SPORTS CARS $$$$$

I vote for bikes 'cause they can also be used as 'efficient transportation'. (At least that's what I tell the wife). ;)
Yep... Just got a 2012 jeep for the wife and spent $3500 for a lift, tires, and wheels (and i provided the labor) ...The fjr farkles are CHEAP by comparison...

Question: What is money?

Answer: It is some sort or a totally artificial societal value that a bunch of edumacated jamokes place on SnS that one needs to have to "get by".

What is Happiness?

If you have never achieved happiness there is no chance in the world that I could ever e'splain it to your sorry ass here.

Happiness is the stuff that you do that makes your heart go pitter-pat.

It's what gets you up at 5AM when you don't have to be anywhere else all day.

It's why you do... what you do. Nobody really works their ***** off for money (unless that is exactly what gives them happiness)
Fred

After the cyphering, I concluded my initial post with a statement that is in total agreement with your comments. Didn't need the three martinis either!

Value to personal well-being and mental health = PRICELESS!

MN boat storage fees suck, and I won't jump into the F-250 7.3 Diesel for a tour of MN this Sat, But I think the FJR will get a workout this weekend!!!!!! Let's go riding!

Oh Geeze....

The euphoria of having concluded another successful Vermont rally last week mixed with a couple full strength libations makes Fred a blathering fool. :p

But the sentiments were all true. ;)
