He doesn't get a mention on UK TV now. He was supposed to come back at Leguna as far as we were aware.
In this article, he says

Up to Barcelona, how had things been going for your brother?

Kenny has kind of been over it the past couple of years now. And I think once he saw we were both going as fast as we could on this bike, then he didn’t feel so bad abut leaving the team. He figured it would be a good situation the way it is now. He knew I wanted to do it and he was at that point where he was over it and his heart wasn’t in it and that’s when you can really get hurt, you know? I’m not glad that I have this job now, I’m glad because I don’t want to see anything happen to him. We’re still struggling a bit with some things, but we’re definitely making some headway now.

Don't know if that means he's gone for good or just gone for this year.

Just found this too

Good question. The official word was that Kenny Jr. was off the bike until a new chassis was ready. The new chassis debuted at Laguna. The team, as far as I know, never said why Kenny Jr. didn't ride it. The only thing I can figure is that they just don't have the dough to run 2 bikes and they've decided to get Kurtis the experience.

The other possibility is that there was a complete break between Jr. and the team over the performance of the last chassis. I just noted that Kenny Jr.'s profile has been removed from the riders section of the Team Roberts web site. Only Kurtis is there.

Or, to put it more succinctly: I don't have a clue.

That seems likely the truth of it. I thought that it was odd when Jnr. went home because the bike wasn't performing. You just don't do that, and if his profile has been removed there must have been a serious rift.

Where is the website?

I had the pleasure of meeting Kenny Jr. at Jerez in '03 as I was a guest in Kenny Sr's garage for the MotoGP there. A genuine nice guy. I would like to see him on a US based Superbike.
