Yeah, there's usually the money angle...

Fortunately I can keep the bikes I already have, and get the Yammy. too...

I will be the first to admit my Deuce is not a touring bike... it's supposed to be a "factory cruiser" but oh well... It's got two wheels and runs, that' good enuf! <G>

If your in Oaho, You just might have met up with my brother on the toys for tots run that took place their a couple months ago. (if you took part) He had his bike shipped over with the local Maui Hog Chapter for the run. He owns a red Heritage Softtail that is pretty decked out. And very loud I might add. He is a FBI agent over their and is very active with the local group. I own a FJR, I didn't go the way of the Harley. But me and my brother aren't anal when it comes to bikes. We appreciate all of them. Let me know if you have an inclination that you might have run into him.

I saw a Suzuki Busa yesterday... that bike is bigger than the FJR... and taller...
I didn't think the Busa was much taller than the FJR. Not long ago, DH was lusting after a Hayabusa. We often toured dealerships to visit their Suzuki selection and kick tires. I sat on every different color bike they make! With my tall boots I would have comfortably ridden the Hayabusa, with about the same reach as my own bike.

My thing is that although I don't particularly like HD's, its goes beyond that into the entire V-twin cruiser line. I have been riding "multi" (3 or more) cylinder bikes for so long now, every time I get on a V-twin I just cant tolerate the vibration or the sluggishnish. Dont matter if its a HD or a Honda, I just dont care for em. I was debating between another cruiser and a sport tourer, and was seriously considering the Yamaha Royal Star Deluxe (V-4 power)....sure glad I ended up with the FJR though  :D

Not sure about vibration. My HD is more of a throb to it, sure, but I kind of like that, feels like an old lumpy V8 :) .

I think my FJR is actually worse for vibration, at the grips and pegs.

As for sluggishness, my first HD in Australia I was a bit dissappointed with, until I derestricted it. My current one, bought in the UK, came without exhaust baffles. Both rev so fast it's actually hard to stay out of the red zone. So no, I don't find them sluggish.

Actually really like both V2 and I4 very much, but as ...

Call me ****, but if it's got 2 wheels, I'll ride it.
