What's the OEM spec for replacing cam chain?

Glad to see you got your FJR sorted out Russ! Looks like today will be a cold but sunny day for a ride on your newly resuscitated bike.

The '09s are the only model year that the parts list shows the updated P/N. If you call a dealer and have them look up the CCT P/N for a '04 I bet they will quote you the new CCT P/N. I have to think that all you will be able to buy from now on is the new P/N regardless of model year.

this sounds correct to me...I ordered my replacement CCT from Mondak in August and emailed him a list of parts taken from his fische...the email shows the old part number and the order confirmation and part received shows the new part number.

guess I'll take out the new part CCT which is my grenaded engine and transplant it to the new used replacement engine at some point. I guess I'm "safe" with a 10k engine using the old style CCT, but it sure would be easier to do the swap with the engines sitting on the deck.

 
This is all quite excellent news. I had heard rumors about new part numbers for the CCTs but this is the first eye witness testimony that the new tensioner is at least marginally superior to the old one. I foresee a new part number CCT being installed on my '05 during the next maintenance, which is due... now!
