I searched and I read the owner's manual. I apologize if I missed it somewhere. This is driving me crazy.
What is this for?

...This is driving me crazy.
I seem to recall these are standard issue on the European-sold FJRs.... or some other FJR model besides the North American version...Now, what the heck is a "U" lock, and do I need one?
I believe you found the power band for your FJR. Kale Co Auto makes adjustable power bands.I searched and I read the owner's manual. I apologize if I missed it somewhere. This is driving me crazy.

I need those.
I'm afraid I don't accept this explanation at face value. OK, I now know what a "U" lock is, but I still don't see how that rubber band would secure one. And, what about the other of the "two" rubber bands? I only have one. Where did that authoritative answer come from? It's not in the owner's manual.1. Under the pillion seat are two rubber bands. They are to secure a "U" lock.
Wow never knew that! :good:It's the TOW STRAP!
In case your FJR ever becomes disabled and needs to be towed somewhere.
Naaahhh. Lost that silly rubberband a long time ago.Wow never knew that! :good:It's the TOW STRAP!

Thank you, ionbeam. Now I believe. The second rubber band (the flat one) is currently holding my tool kit. I see that it was not originally intended for that purpose.Persuasive evidence that the two bands are for a U-Lock
