That's great Don!

Don, Tyler is staying at a nicer place in Paso Robles on Thursday night...I think it is the Black Oak Motor Lodge. So if you don't want to stay in the barrio with us, you could check that out...I know you like to have your sip of chianti at 3:15pm, so they may accomodate more better for you. :D

Guys, unless Paso Robles has gotten that much bigger since I lived in Atascadero 25 years ago, no two hotels are more than 10 minutes apart.

Barring our Tempestuous Tyler making Papa Chuy Viejo an offer this Irishman cannot possibly refuse, I'll probably just bunk down at Motel Seis!

Kinda surprised that your ride north from from your Dad's doesn't include Hwy 1, or so little of it, anyway. If it was a weekend, I'd understand, but that's one of my favorites from Carmel south.

As to the Tahoe Loop, I'll have to get back to it later -- still hoping to spend a couple nights in Fortuna and do the rides out of there and back to Auburn, also. Been kind of a shitstorm here with my Mom's declining health, especially the last month.

Rich, glad to hear of your Hwy 1 recommendation. We haven't filled out the itinerary for Wednesday afternoon or Thursday...so maybe we will do a loop that includes 229, gets over to the coast, then back to Paso Robles on Thursday night.

Or maybe go up the coast Wednesday...thanks for the recco.

Sorry to hear of your Mom's health issues :( ...obviously if your mom's health declines, we will travel on our own.

Do not feel like you need to lead us around. I just know that you know the area very well, and selfishly would love having a tour guide. But family comes first for sure...hope that she has many quality days left...and if not, that she can be made comfortable. My hope for your family's best...

Yes, staying at the Best Western: https://book.bestwestern.com/bestwestern/productInfo.do?propertyCode=05084

Big Bubba's BBQ is right next door... thought we could hit that for dinner Thursday night. :)

:yahoo: :yahoo:

Yeah BBQ, I need a BBQ joint in each state we pass though for the Smoke Chasing Tour. Sure hope Mark and Griff like BBQ, well it's obvious Mark does. Sure hope Griff likes BBQ.

Nice to see all the local riders joining in..........................kinda looks like we're gonna end up with a mini WFO rolling rally. :yahoo:

Just when I start feeling like I've got everything under control, I start seeing people staying at the Travel Lodge in Paso Robles. Is this yet another hotel stay along the Wheaton Trail?

If I'm missing something, fill me in so I don't find myself sleeping on a park bench somewhere!

Big-D, you've got to get with your buddy beemerdons...he'll explain it all in a phone call. ;)

Actually due to Don's suggestion, we (Mark/Karl/Carl) are going to stay at the Paso Robles Motel 6 on Wednesday and Thursday night. Tyler will be in Paso Robles as well Thursday night, where I will buy her a dinner as a small thank-you for all she has done to help set things up. She is staying at the Black Oak Motor Lodge (Best Western)

We will be leaving Friday morning from Paso Robles on a route that Tyler has cooked up...this day will end up in Santa Clara at the Vagabond Inn. Capiche?

I thought us Zonies were going to meet up with you guys at Zion N.P. in Utah.

Regardless, I will figure out where everyone is staying and make adjustments accordingly. I will make additional reservations as needed to run with you guys.

I sure am looking forward to shooting a little pool with Richard while having a couple shots of Jim Beam Black with a Budlight chaser while popping a couple Iodine pills.

I thought so too...

How about a route kind of like this one on Thursday, May 19th? It gets in some Hwy 1 and some inland curvy roads.
