It depends what I'm doing at the moment on my FJR. Most of the time I'm up next to the tank as my arms are short. If I'm riding the twisties, I'm sliding from one side to the other to try to keep from scraping the pegs so much. :biggrinsmiley: But if I'm taking a nap between rides I believe I use all the seat. It is really a comfortable bike. :sleepysmileyanim:

Damn I guess I killed this thread with my photo, so I removed it.

Depends, I tend to move around, so sometimes I will sit close to the tank, and sometimes I will sit on the pillon seat. Just depends on what I am doing.

I think I'm one of the few who use the stock seat for long distances. I use all three of the positions you mention and sometimes move back so I'm partially on the pillion seat. That gives me four distinct seating positions. I also move my feet to at least two positions on the rider's pegs, and two more positions on the passenger pegs and occasionally I briefly hang my feet from the sliders.
I would probably sit up close against the tank more often if it didn't get so hot.
+ fuzzy gunny balls!!!!

 Have a Corbin custom seat, so my riding position is fairly constant and comfortable, no wedgies likc the OE equipment gave me nor do I have any need to shift around due to hot spots....good for up to 14 hours in the saddle with just breaks when I tank up.

I've had the bike for 5 years with the stock seat, & I find I tend to move around a little depending on 'mode' of riding too. Up close & personal with the tank is good around town, & further back in the seat to crouch lower behind stock screen for twisties etc.

Just recently started using an Airhawk Medium Cruiser pillow (to help get over broken leg) & I've found it sits nicely at the back of the rider's seat & raises the bum, reducing the stresses on my recovering leg. It definitely improves the options available with the oem seat.

I move around alot. I too use the entire seat. In twisties, I come a bit forward and lay down some on the tank to make sure my leg gets a good hook on the tank so I dont fall off. So it is where ever I can get a good hook on the tank.

Leisure riding, I move all over the place, recently I found using the Pillion Pegs is pretty nice and sliding back on the pillion seat is a nice change from time to time
