My lunch break saw me driving from one location belonging to a particular customer to one of his other locations. There's a Wendy's in between, so guess where I had lunch?

But Wendy's is right across the street from this, the "County Pier." It's a 1500' concrete pier built to replace a smaller one damaged by Hurricane Dennis in 2005. That pier in turn was built to replace a wooden pier destroyed by Hurricane Opal in 1995.

Anyway, to you guys still whining about snow and stuff . . . . :p :p :p

Good god, guys!!! It's freaking MAY!!!! Get some sunshine and warmth going on!!!!

Seven frames stitched to make a 180-degree view from the end of the pier, 1500' out from the shops at the base.

Five frame stitch from about halfway out on the pier

Three frames for a wide view looking east.

Just one thought popped into my mind.

JET SKI!

Hey Fooshee...I want you to take a picture from this same Wendy's the next time one of those big assed hurricanes is blowing through. I bet you won't be so smug then. :dribble:

And not a mountain or a twisty road anywhere. It's ok to look at but I will stick with my weather and enjoy the riding and the lack of humanity :p

...Riding to Pensacola on Memorial weekend, does the water look as beautiful as this area?
Yup. Snow white (sugar) sand and crystal clear blue and green water when the sun shines. My family had a place right, right on the water. A hurricane washed it away. Rebuilt it, and a hurricane washed it away. Rebuilt it yet again but by then my parents were not healthy enough to move back in.

I used to shark fish off that old wooden pier back in the 80's. Good times.

Oh yeah, almost forgot. :finger:

As Alan said, Yup. And if you head east from Pensacola Beach you'll get to a National Seashore, an undeveloped area on the barrier island between Pensacola Beach and Navarre. There's a bridge at Navarre where you can cross back to the mainland if you don't want to just turn around to go back to P'cola Bch.

Well, I wouldn't be able to. They run everybody out for those. I'd say "Head for the hills" but it's more just "Head inland!" There's no hills to speak of for about 15 counties.
