Where is the starter relay located?

Hi all:

I have been trying to find the actual physical location of this relay on my 2006.

Can someone advise on where this is located?

A picture of the location would also be great.

Well, I did a little more research by pulling out the service manual and I see that it is located right next to the battery.

I do not have my bike handy but that seems to be right.

According to the Yamaha online parts catalog, you are correct. Under "Electrical 2": 4YR-81940-02-00 STARTER RELAY ASSY , and the fuse is listed separate as 1AE-82151-00-00 FUSE (30A-BL).

Indeed that does. It was tough to visualize.

Now for a technical question: to hook up an immobilizer as part of an alarm system, do I want to tap into this or to the starter circuit cut-off relay which would be next to it, according to the service manual diagram?

I know some people would tap in to the kick-stand switch but I would prefer another solution.
