Then, last but not least, I turn to any of the water logged and brain damaged types from Pacific North Wet. Reading PNW posts is like meeting Martians for the 1st time!
...does this fit in the same category as honorable mention?

Si Jorge, it does. You Pacific North Wet guys are "Numero Uno" with Papa Chuy! But, you may want to ask Niehart exactly what I mean when I say "Numero Uno"!

I have a#1 on my charm bracelet. Hmmmm..... I wonder what THAT means

I'm in the 'subject line' camp. I look for subjects that are technical where I can either add some value or learn something. Second priority are the group rides, followed by socializing and humor. When I have time I read them all.

MEM, different rules apply to pretty redheaded Canadian gals versus old gray haired guys from Woodinville, Washington. Just kidding, those PNW guys are really a great group of guys and excellent FJR riders!!!

I hit View New Threads too. Then scan the titles/descriptions and open in 'new tab' all that interest me. If I am particularly interested, it will get opened in a new window. Then I hit mark all threads read. I finish up browsing new stuff, then ready whenever to go for more. I spend entirely too much time here in winter, and miss whole weeks in summer.

Over the last few years I have learned certain members are consistently interesting to me  .

I can't contribute much techno knowledge, but say hi to a few newbies. I like reading the tech stuff, though I don't understand a whole lot of it. Especially the electrical stuff.

Any ride report by Old Michael gets opened. Threads by Beemerdons get opened to see where he is going next (and I try not to get jealous). Bust makes me laugh so I'll take a peak into his twisted mind, even if a subject is off my usual radar.

Mostly I wait to look until after the goats are fed and bedded down for a while, so I don't feel like I wasted an entire day. (that was a metaphor folks).

Generally jokes and fun stuff/Images are the last to get opened unless I see an interesting title, or multiple responses, indicating I may be missing something.

Pretty much everything (and everyone) is fair game to me...

I ain't gonna mention any names as I'd forget someone and I don't wanna hear any crying because you feel "left out". :****:

Tech stuff followed by ride reports. Then for sale, wanted. Images and jokes/silly **** follows.

:jester:

Yeah, well blow me!

Just make sure there is no pictorial "ride report" for that, m'kay?

Here's a li'l tip for ya Bokerfork. And no I do NOT mean that in any sort of a sleazy way... :glare:

If you have some particular areas that you like on the forum just subscribe to that section. Then you'll get email notifications and can quit hittin' on all those guys...

Always the 'view new posts' for me.

There's just too much content on this forum for me to absorb much, and with some of what I do see here, I'm glad I don't absorb it.

I mainly look at the subject line first. I don't "hit on" a thread because of particular forum member.... Unless I see who commented and what the subject was. Then it can get fun. ;)
+1

+1

Except I might shy away from any post or set of posts where one of the post whores replied to everything in sight and then started a couple of new threads for no discernible reason. Nothing like clicking on "View New Posts" and seeing a full page of the "last action" column filled in by the same person.

I've been perusing this Forum for a couple of years now and have come to the following conclusion. Some "handles" I click on immediately. Others, sorry, I take a wait and see attidude.
For example:

JB: Always insightful, rarely boring.
I have a new best friend on the forum. :friends:

What a great question! So let's see.... I go straight to Bokerfork (just returning the favor :D ). But seriously, I usually go straight to "California" to see what's going on in my neighborhood. Then I'll go into ride reports to look at all the great places people have been. Then I'll go to View New Posts and cruise down the list. I practically never go into technical forums unless it's a problem I'm working on. When scanning I look for my friends and acquaintances to see who posted. I think I look mostly for clever, irreverent, or just plain stupid posts, or opportunities to pile on. (Hope there's not a psychologist watching. :glare: ). I never go into Jokes and Fun Stuff because much of it is not my kind of humor, or there's a link with no hint of what it is (true in Images and Videos too), so I don't want to waste my time or get ambushed with something awful. GTG!
