Why not black?

What I'm saying is that the color doesn't make any difference. Whether or not you are happy with your bike won't have anything to do with the color.

I completely agree - well said that Geezer

 To me Black is cool, but scratches show up more. You have to get bretty close to see my scratches on my silver.

I'm not a fan of the black myself. Having a silver, I've gotten away with 2 months of not washing my FJR.

If you like the 07' red better...go find yourself one of those NEW. Dealers still have them in crates. The 08'

improvements don't buy you that much. Plus an 07' will cost you about a grand and a half less. More

wallet room for farkles. PM me if you're wanting. I can put you onto a couple at my local dealer near

El Paso, TX.

I so much didn't want a dark color that I bought an 07' A (red) and had them swap plastics with an AE so I

could have the silver.

Like my tailor once said - "Black picks up everything but the chicks."

Black in no harder to keep clean than black cherry.

I do prefer a little red in my black...but then, I am biased.

I must fall into the rare category, don't like black but a nice bright red (ducati) FJR would suit me.
I, too, am a big fan of hurt-your-eyes red! If it doesn't look good red, it was just an ugly design.

Doesn't work for me. My favorite color would be Euro spec sandlewood color. Looks great, even when dirty. Which my fjr is always dirty.

Black seemed to be the theme at the DC International Motorcycle Show:

Here's the black FJRA at the DC IMS:

How about this colour?

It's a 2002 UK FJR1300. Not keen on the red myself, but I understand why some would like it (my '06 is the Steel Grey behind it).

Methinks we're picking nits that don't need picking.

My '04 Cerulean silver was easier to keep clean than my '05 Galaxy blue. So what! I don't buy a bike based on how easy it is to keep clean. For that matter, a little wax and some anti-static polish and all is good.

I bought an (well...two) FHR because I feel in love with its lines, its character and its capabilities. It has been the best bike for me, and my heart STILL skips a beat when I see it in my garage or in the parking lot after work. Yep...I've got it bad!

Color...schmolor. It doesn't matter much when I'm actually riding and enjoying my bike. If it does matter to you, there are options to explore: A good used FJR of another year; repaint; ST1300.......

When I found out the "deal" on FJR colors, I was a bit put off---I wanted to buy in '07, and not an AE.

Dk Cherry cola might have been one of the last colors I would hve picked (I bought it without ever seeing one in person, living in Korea and all).

Now I can't imagine having another color...

It's the only one in country, and man it looks great.

Like many have said....it's the bike dammit! prooly could have been almost any masculine color....it's the bike!!

Not a real true red as far as I am concerned, that's the same red as is used on the FZ1

Want a REAL red...red, like ducati or a fire truck.

Hey, I HEARD that!

Actually, I agree. As much as I like the "Shift Red Metalic" on my bike, I'm with you.

I'd love to own one of the first solid red FJRs here in this states. See signature below.

Now if I were to have a black one, I have a friend that can do this...

...and no, I don't mean turn an FJR into an old street rod. I just think the flames on a solid black faired bike would be very unique.

I got a chance to see the Black at a local dealer. It looks realy good to me. I had a black ST1100, black does show dirt and flaws, but looks great clean. The thing about the 08 FJR black is the it has metalic in the paint. In the sun you can realy see the metalic - nice look, great bike.

Why not black?, 08 Black en negro = No es bueno?
Wouldn't this be the correct subtitle? Thus making every post in this thread null and void?

(Yes, I am the "shtirrenuppenmeister"!

If you had those flames on the fairings whatever of the FJR, you'd get speeding tickets just for being parked!

That would look totally awesome.

I like the white FJR running around here near Allen, Tx....
