Hi everybody, I just bought a 2003 fjr today with 1200 miles, practically brand new. I have one problem though. The windshield rocker switch does not do anything. I checked the windshield fuse and it is not blown. Any ideas?

Gigahurts,

Congrats on your bike! I have not heard of this problem yet, but this link has the diagram you may be able to use to possibly track down the culprit:

It sounds like you may have to take off the cowling to check the modules and connections to the motor.

Good Luck on you solution and many Happy Miles to ya.

Hi, thanks for the quick response. Funny thing is, everything else works perfect, headlights, taillights, signals, emergency flasher, dash, clock. Could you point me to which part of the diagram the windshield is a part of?

Thanks

Well, according to the manual is says its the 2a fuse. I checked it and it was ok, but I put the spare in there just in case, still doesnt work. I checked all the fuses and none of them are blown. I guess I could just get a bigger windshield for like $100 - I'm sure getting it repaired will be more than that.

Gig,

Don't know if this could be the cause your problem or not, but last week my windshield stopped working.

I checked all the normal stuff swicth, fuses, ect. and found that the weather stripping for the windshield actuator

had came loose and fouled both limit swicthes for the mechanisim.

I am pretty sure it's pretty ugly ($$$$) if you have to get a new motor. If that is the case, I would be checking ebay.

Poster above has some good info, maybe it will be something like that.

What do you mean when you say actuator (motor)? How did you fix it (buy a new one)? Where do I find the limit switches? How do I find out if this is the case? The bike has been garaged for 5 years, the guy I bought it from even covered it in the garage. It looks like it just came off of the showroom. I guess I can just start pulling fairings off and check everything with a multimeter.

Thanks
